The Ocean life session was fantastic. The year 1's really got so much out of the day and were fascinated by the shark and turtle. They really liked to touch the sea creatures and the pollution component was very age appropriate and informative. Thanks to Richard for a great day!

Hi Tracey,
I thought the ocean show was extremely well presented, all the children were very interested and especially enjoyed touching the animals, even though some children were a bit shy others seemed to be elbow deep in fun. I thought that the resources that were provided were great and the children were very amused, it also gave the carers something to talk about and explain.
I had children go home that night and tell their parents why we have to put the rubbish in the bins (these children were 2.5 yrs). I thought that this was amazing.
I highly recommended this show to other centres around us, as I felt that it was fun and educational as well. The time limit fitted in great with our routine.
We got lots of nice pictures of the children enjoying themselves.
I want to thank you so much for the opportunity to experience the sea in our own child care, it was a fantastic show that was enjoyed by both children and adults.
Thank you once again.

Good morning Richard
On behalf of my Year 4 class from St Joachim's Catholic Primary School, I would like to sincerely thank you for the wonderful presentation you gave us last Wednesday afternoon.
Your professionalism, enthusiasm, vibrancy and love for what you do enabled the students to experience something different and special. The content and resources you bought along were most engaging and the students haven't stopped talking about the special ocean creatures that became their friends.
A superb and very worthwhile visit.

Hi Richard
Thank-you for the fantastic presentation that you did for our Year One classes at St Thomas More. The children really enjoyed it and have lots to say, write and draw about their experiences. It was a wonderful introduction to our "Under the Sea" unit and it has given us lots of different ideas to investigate with the children this term.
Regards,
Julie Ziakas, Year 1 Teacher.

Hi Tracey
Just wanted to pass on my thanks to Richard and yourself. We loved having Ocean Life Education at Stafford Heights SS. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will take away a huge amount of knowledge about the Ocean and its creatures. The hands on experience with the animals is just fabulous. Your online/email booking system was great, especially for teachers who rarely get time to make phone calls. Dealing with you both was a very efficient, no fuss, enjoyable experience. I'd certainly like to have you back next time I do a unit on the Ocean and will recommend you to colleagues. Thanks!

Dear Richard and Tracey,
I really wanted to extend my thanks for your wonderful contribution to our celebration of World Wetlands Day! The community celebration day that was hosted by the Bayside Creeks Catchment Group at Wynnum Manly in Brisbane, is an event celebrated annually by the catchment group. This year saw the greatest numbers of participants thanks to the role of Ocean Life Education! The workshop held by Richard perfectly complimented the mudflat walk that was hosted by Dr Peter Davie from Queensland Museum.
The involvement of Ocean Life Education promoted the event as a family affair, which is a demographic that catchment groups in general struggle to get. The workshop was interactive, educational, interesting and fun! I had many comments from members of the public about how wonderful it was for the kids to be able to get up so close to some of the animals that we are encountering less commonly in the natural environment.
Thank you so much for your flexibility and ability to accommodate a community event for so many people.

Dear Richard
Thank-you so much for your visit to our Year 2 classes last week. I found your presentation to be both engaging and enjoyable for the children. You spoke at the children's level and your knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for our ocean environments certainly was evident. Your explanations were very clear and concise and the hands-on practical nature of your visit was also excellent.
I had many positive responses from the children regarding your visit, especially related to the opportunity you provided for them to touch 'real life' animals.
Thank-you once again for your high quality presentation. I certainly would recommend your program to other teachers.

Ocean Life Education was amazing. Presented in an easy way for 4-6 yr olds to understand and get a lot out of. Touching the creatures was thoroughly enjoyable and Richard was great with the kids. We will always remember a starfish is a seastar and it's stomach comes out of its body to swallow food! We will have them back next year!

Ocean Life Education was fantastic for our school aged group of children. They got to touch and feel new and interesting creatures, while also learning about their purpose in the ocean. A very hands on message about saving our environment and looking after the animals that live in it.
Sam H: That was great. I wish I could've had one of the shark teeth
Chloe B: They felt so different, each one was wet but not slimey
Joshua S: The turtle was the best part!!
James L: I didn't know that there was no such thing as a penny turtle. I loved learning about the turtle.
Kaitlyn M: I learnt your rubbish goes in the bin or it ends up inside marine animals!

You changed the show to suit our interests which was wonderful and the children's enthusiasm showed this in their responses to the presentation. For our age group Vicki was excellent, she sat at their level and listened to their responses, with her quiet tactics. We would use Ocean Life again as it was hands on, informative and factual and best of all it was here at our kindy. Thanks we appreciated today's show and the extra 'whale' info!

Hi Tracey and Richard
We found the Ocean Life Education visit a wonderful experience for our children because it gave them the opportunity to not only see and hear about some fascinating ocean creatures, but also to touch them in a safe environment. Our younger age group benefited from being able to learn in this manner as it is something that comes naturally to them. They had plenty of time to explore the characteristics of the animals and Richard enhanced this with brief but knowledgeable information. A great 'hands on' experience!

Hi guys – when are you coming back? We’d love to see and your ‘ocean life’ again.
Our children had a really interesting time getting up close to a range of ‘safe’ sea creatures. Explanation and discussion was to the point and pitched at the correct level for the children. They talked about this experience and incorporated it into their play for ages.

Ocean Life Education proved to be a wonderful experience for all the children and staff at our centre. The demonstrators were enthusiastic, well informed and enjoyed working with the children. Every age group from 15 months through to 5 years were involved in the hands on displays. This was by far the best demonstration that has been at our centre and we will definitely be booking them for return visits.

The children had a fantastic time looking at the ocean life your company brought to the centre. The children loved handling the creatures and the way they felt when they touched them. The staff and children were talking about the animals they saw for weeks afterwards, and some of the rooms are thinking of underwater themes to do in their room. The demonstration was very good with relevant information given to the children and staff about our coastal lifestyle. We would recommend Ocean Life Education to any centre, thank you so much for showing us the lovely creatures that live in and around our oceans.

Dear Richard and Tracey,
Just a note to thank you for bringing Ocean Life Education to our centre. Our teachers were impressed with the professional delivery of information and the variety of presentation. There was something for everyone. Those children who didn’t want to touch live creatures enjoyed the variety of shells and the felt board. Teachers and parents were included and this allowed the presentation to focus on individual children. Richard varied the presentation for our younger groups and this allowed them to explore at their own pace. Families have given very positive feedback- the messages about safety and responsibility for the environment have been taken on board so thank you again

We were very excited to welcome the Ocean Life Education program to our centre. It is a fresh, new concept, interactive and very child friendly, relevant to our coastal lifestyle and an extension of an iconic coastal attraction the children can readily relate to. Our staff were encouraged to be an integral part of the presentation which aided the children’s' participation as well as providing a fun and educational experience for the "grown-ups"!
Thank you so much- we at Maroochy Waters Child Care wish you continued success in this worthwhile venture!
